  • Brakes don't seem to work as well

    after the winter took the car out for its first proper drive out to pure ford and they don't seem to work as well you really have to push hard on them and I don't remember them like that before they are ap 6 pots cp5555 also the handbrake light and orange light next to it is on so was wondering if that is anything to do with it ?

    the ABS light is on? Could be a pump issue.

        Yep, check the fuse. Does it prime when you switch the ignition on?

          Yes it's the abs light , I will check if it prime tomorrow night what sound am I looking for what fuse is it

            Think its a buzzing noise, fuse im sure is 10 Amp and should be near battery area

                Replacement mate, you can replace it with one from a scrappy quite easily. Fiddly, but doable. I had to do mine because it's quite close to the exhaust, so pretty much cooked it and kept popping the fuse.

                When you turn ignition on (not engine) you will hear it priming, buzzing away as it refills the tank. If not, pump the brake pedal a couple of time and that will activate it. Check the fuse hasn't blown and check all plugs are attached to the servo itself.

                  Ok I have not touched it over the winter, the pedal is hard but does not seem to work as well as they did will have a look tonight

                    Also check the 2 red wires in the red sleeve are ok to the battery as one of them is a supply trigger for the pump and i have seen the wires break there before.

                      You may have a point I have had that all out so may start there is there a way to find out what one it is ?

                        Right did not here a buzzing noise I think there was a click sound but that was from the right side of the engine bay, and I don't seem to have a 10amp fuse near the battery, only these

                          Do you have any aftermarket wiring looms anywhere at all, behind the dash maybe?
