after the winter took the car out for its first proper drive out to pure ford and they don't seem to work as well you really have to push hard on them and I don't remember them like that before they are ap 6 pots cp5555 also the handbrake light and orange light next to it is on so was wondering if that is anything to do with it ?

Replacement mate, you can replace it with one from a scrappy quite easily. Fiddly, but doable. I had to do mine because it's quite close to the exhaust, so pretty much cooked it and kept popping the fuse.
When you turn ignition on (not engine) you will hear it priming, buzzing away as it refills the tank. If not, pump the brake pedal a couple of time and that will activate it. Check the fuse hasn't blown and check all plugs are attached to the servo itself.sigpic
