  • Wrc top mounts

Im probably going to sound like a total retard...

whats the the purpose of having the wrc top mounts if they are not adjustable?

Fitted mine from Mk motorsport with the turret extension, but looking at dewitts version they are the same.. fixed to allow the strut to sit at more vertical angle?

The turret extensions allow the cars to be run lower whilst maintaining suspension travel, the tops are fixed and the camber/castor adjusted using hubs and tcas/comp struts. I guess its so the top mount can the bigger/stronger as it doesnt need to move.....

or might be something completely different lol

Have you looked under the mount?
That black thing should be movable, otherwise it has no sence. It is than just a spacer and it hasn't to be so complicated, it could be just peace of metal.

Correct.. I have the tca and comp struts to help with camber and castor... the black thing is not movable, after asking mark he said they are not adjustable but something about plates can be made or something...

A bit pissed off tbh.. thought they were naturally adjustable when buying.. but at the same workshop there is a serious track escos running the ones from dewitts and they are the same.. fixed...

Lol.. It was a bad attempt of humour from me

i have heard of them.. eccentric top mounts.. not exactly sure what they mean in relation to the design.. eccentric being on top of turret and concentric below?

anyhow for the cost and hassle of the things, I'm gobsmacked that they only serve a single (almost pointless) purpose

"Eccentric" means that they are machined off center. For example, the center axis of the inner bolt circle (Black plate) is not aligned with the center axis of the outer bolt circle (gold plate). By rotating the top mount, the center bearing shifts in relation to the turret. It's like poking one end of a stick into the ground and moving the other end of the stick in a small circle.

the black bit is fitted off center so if the gold disk is turned and bolted using other holes it will be adjustable to an extent

Haha i google eccentric, so understood it now

Take a pic from top. But as Said, you undo the bolts on the goldplate to turret, turn the hole plate to adjust. Dont bother with those adjustable crap, they just weaken the top... You have enough adjustment on them, and you do them one time, and rest is done under car.
