Is this Escos still about? I remember going to collect this car approx 15 years ago under a different registration. This Escos is mallard green with a gold pinstripe up both sides wearing an Rs Cosworth logo towards end of pin stripe at rear quarters in small writing, also fitted with morettes, 18" rondells, and green cloth hex trim, car is or was running 400bhp or there about. This Escos was then passed onto another close friend of mine who added the above plate shortly before he sold it.

Hi Mac247, I know this post is a little old but I am the guy that bought this Cosworth from Hendy Ford Motorpsort in 1992 and sold it 15 years ago!! Does your mate still own it or has he sold it on? It would be good to hear from him, if possible? Would love to know about the old beast Had a 666 no. plate when I owned it.

Hi Mate, yes, I kind of do!. I am toying with the idea of buying one again. When I sold it in 2001 to Steve (ShadesRS) my Dad was terminally ill and I guess I was under duress and I was changing a few things in my life. I decided that I wanted a Boxster! I kept that for a few months; it was awful, then bought a 996 Turbo which I loved but I then realised my old Cossie was a far better drive and more fun (and faster, 0-100!). I have fond memories of collecting it from a local dealer showroom in 1992 and trading my old Sierra Cosworth in for it (I must try and find that car too!). I was having a sort out recently and came across my old Fast Ford Mags from the early 90's (possibly late 80's too) and the old Ford Sales Brochure then I started thinking about my old cars. Like a few on this forum I was into Group B in the day which as you know was as big as F1. I owned Astra GTEs, Opel Mantas,Mk.2 Escorts back in the 80's so when Group B died started looking at the Group A cars. Looking a this forum has rekindled my love of the Escort Cosworth again. Do you know who owns my old car? From what I gather it left the Wales area for Birmingham, plated as K20 BYE. I would love to hear about it. Do you have any events coming up this Summer? Love this forum btw.

Hi aks, i collected this car with your buyer "steve thomas" i vaguely remember 1 of you driving over a tin of paint whilst exiting your garage. another good friend of mine purchased it a few years later and plated it up as K20 BYE. Last known keeper.. Birmingham goes by the name of Tony if my memory serves me right. Think he may run his local owners club, Registration has changed again.

Hey mate, I just logged in and saw your message. I managed to track down the Owner a few months ago but am not sure if it's viable to buy it back now. Tony got rid of it and it was a bit of a mess when he finished with it, from what I have been told. I was hoping you wouldn't remember the tin of paint! I was in a panic as I had just got back and you were almost there then it happened! White gloss all over the o/s front wheel. I hope Steve got it cleaned up okay, although I got most of it off. It was a tin of Dulux Pure Brilliant White gloss . I am pleased to say that all paint has now been removed and all that is in the garage now is another RS (not Escort Cosworth). I am in the market for one but would prefer one that may need tidying up if it reflects in the price, so if you know of one I am all ears. Modified is good too, in fact preferred
