  • What's fuel costing where you are?

Has anybody else noticed that it's creeping again? I've been noticing 1/2p a week increases.

The supermarkets are priced way cheaper than the big names too, in Crewe the Tesco near me is 111.9 for unleaded and 112.9 for diesel. The nearest Esso is 121.9 for unleaded and 122.9 for diesel! How do they get away with it??????

Supermarkets are cheaper to get you there, just put it on the shopping bill

Petrol stations go off the prices around them so will be more expensive if no other petrol stations are near by.

I just fill up with the local sm fuel for the runarounds but make sure i use shell optimax in the cosworth.

    Dave.

Is Tesco 99 any good? I usually put Esso 97 in mine.

It's definitely creeping. V power is costing me £1.219 at the moment. I'm sure it'll be more next time.

Sainsbury's fuel 97 RON is great in my Escos, I stopped using Tesco when some cars reported problems due to the fuel, I like to put V power or BP ultimate in if I'm not near a Sainsbury's.

108.7 at the moment in Canterbury, Kent. Having Asda, Morrisons and 2 Esso garages within a couple of miles seems to keep the price down.

Between 1.12-1.14 for regular unleaded, but for the runaround I don't care what goes in it

V Power everytime in the YB

Unfortunately fuel prices are now on the increase and I'm pretty sure they won't drop again now for some time. I work within the oil and gas markets amd most will know it's been on its arse for a while now as it's been under $50 dollars a barrel. You wil most likely see further increase over the next few months.

Esso 98for me here on cossies, around 1,3-1,6gbp a litre... Not sure if this is all over, but shell 99 vpower and all of their fuel have seemed to detonate much earlyer then Esso 98... So i dont trust shell

Has anyone ever actually looked into supermarket fuels?

I have seen and read a lot about them (only diesel though) and it's just crap.

I ran Asda's diesel in the mondeo and was getting 38-40mpg.

Swapped it for Shell's diesel with 500ml of 2 stroke per tank and it shot up to over 50mpg

I know a delivery driver and he says its no different, often comes from the same storage as the non supermarket brands. He did say though that not all supermarkets buy from the same wholesaler so there could be a difference there.

It had dropped to 99p a litre by us at supermarkets, we're now back up to 113p a litre for both fuels. I read last week on the BBC that we'll be seeing 130p a litre by end of january next year

Toronto prices are $1.02 cad ~ £60p / litre, hence the only reason I can justify driving a 5 litre V8 as my daily driver.
