Did you try to drive the car after assembling the ABS system, as this could be necessary to force the ABS light to go off.

Are the pump working? How is the pedal? A common fail, is the pressure switch on abs unit, you got hard pedal and no brakes

Are the light comming on just when you start or do you drive before it turns on?

after having it apart have you plugged the drivers front sensor into the alarm switch plug by mistake its a common fault as they are thesame plugs in the same area check that 1st

I had problems with mine. The plug of the dash dimmer caused it once (was un plugged )
2nd time was a fault with brake light switch. ( try starting with brake peddle pushed down to see if it goes off) I replaced brake light switch and it worked.
Just a couple of easy ones to try.
                              Cheers
