Maybe if I tell all the 500 owners they're wasting their time and money on these old Sierras that every man and his dog has owned at one point they'll take pity on me and sell me one for what I want to pay not what the market dictates

You're becoming quite boring with your constant whinging about the prices, either pay the market value or don't, but don't come on here expecting us to feel sorry for you because you cannot afford to pay what it costs. That's life I'm afraid
I think Sparky P can resolve this just buy one of these pal

old "historic" cars Will always go up in price, and it should... just see how few cossys still alive and "genuine" good, after the where chaep and "unlimited" supply...

now like the evos and Subarus is the "cheap" rallycars, but sure they Will increas over time when "all" is trashed and broken for spares...
the problem is that pepole want the best, but dont want to pay what it cost... so most just get something that "is the same" but in reality not even close...

I bought my cars because I want them, nothing else...

and I for 1 think it is a good Thing that serius carcollectors get them... why not, they can afford them, they have the Space to strore them proparly, they take care of them and keep them clean+++ so what is the problem?

anyway enough of the fucking gayness, i bought mine coz i had the dough sat there doing nowt, i'd still rather know that if i did buy a rs my money will go up not down so no new focus rs's for me unless they were in a trade auction and i could make on them but i just don't need the fucking dickheads comming round asking nob head questions.

you buy a rs coz you want one and if you buy the right one you could make money, theres not many cars you can do that with, i get loads of lads interested in mine when they find out i have a cozzeh, some even want a ride in it....... you don't get that in a fucking mondeo do yer

folk are forgetting its about opinions, some folk think these are worth 50k some think 15k some owners will agree some wont, to me there is no way i would hand over 25-40k which i could easily today or tommorow so someone can laugh at you when you drive away and u have lined there pockets for a mk 5 escort that are worth nothing apart from the cossie, that they never payed anything near what they want for it, i think the ones this will be rattling the most is the guys who actully believe they will get 30k and over for there's

think on fifth gear they valued these at 17k upwards i just think folk need to be relistic with valuing these, how many said aye right 17k that should be minimum 20 k

its up to the owners what they want With their cars, and what value they want to sell it for... just because most pepole today dont want to work to make money, but want everything for free, is not a reason to "give" away Our cars... most off the owners probaly have used much more money on the cars then they get back anyway...

Look at Porka 996 turbo prices compared to the Porka 993 turbo. Both Flag Ship cars. 996 tt fully loaded new in 2001 was aprox 90-100k and the 993 mid 90's was 70k ota.
Now 996tt average condition circa 20-25k however the 993 holds 60-70 k still even more for good examples.

The 993 has no redeeming qualities compared to the newer 996 so why the incredible price Tag. Simple answer, its the last air-cooled 911 made in limited numbers and there just isn't enough good examples to go around. So there rare and the price/value reflects this. If you want one, you have to persuade some one else to sell. The right price for the right car at the right time will always do that.

The Escort Cosworth was made in even less numbers , perhaps it doesn't have quite the street cred a 911 has but the market still dictates the price. If they made 120K Escort Cosworths world wide then there would be shed loads of them and the value would be low. But after all, there hand built cars from the Ford SVU and made in limited numbers and the last of the Cosworth's. Even the name Cosworth to this day brings a wee shiver down my spine .......its Iconic and people are going to remember them for the foreseeable future and going to want one.
