  • Black headlining done.

Been wanting to do this for a few years now since I seen my brothers astra with it. I thought it would suit the escort.

I already had the largest bit cleaned off before I decided to take a few pics more now of the progress,

covered with black velour type material my wife got for me in a fabric it has a stretch with it so it covers without looking pulled it looks the bizz I think.

all the plastics I painted with a vynil spray which is ok'ish not as happy with it but at least it wont crack.

Looks good, not sure if I would have done the acryllic paint, as surely this will flake off with sweaty hand syndrome?

What's the crack with having to wind it by hand - I thought all Escort Cosworths were electric operation?

Thought they all were electric as well but didn't want to seem like I don't know anything about the cars

It has cost me about €60 the paint wont crack as it is liquid vynil and always remains soft and flexible as for the sunroof I forgot to pay the electric bill so I got cut off earlier one's did'nt all have electric roof's or did they but what does it matter maybe to bean counters. For the glue that's one I never thought of I suppose I will have to wait and see if it sags like an auld one's titties I will get the heatproof stuff you recommended, the adhesive I used I got from a furniture upholester and it is heavy duty stuff REXMORE HOUSE spray adhesive and the black paint was RUST-OLEUM direct to vynil flexible coating.

its a hight temp glue you need for roof lining, as in summer the roof is one of the hottest fif not hottest panel on the car, so glue starts to melt
