  • 255/35-18 tyres, will they fit?

I've been offered some 255/35-18 tyres for my 9x18" Rotas, anyone tried this size? Know if it will fit? Seems nobody has 245/35-18 here, if they do they are stupidly expensive, so looking for alternatives...

Tyre diameter is 634mm, section width is 260mm, thread width is 236mm.

Should do, but you may well have a problem with the tyre touching on the back liners at slow speed on full lock....

Let me know how you get on, as next time I'll move up to that size on my Rotas if you don't have any probs .

I'll blame you if they dont fit Just picked up the tyres, they're wide

Had to get my measuring tape out for a quick look.
As you can see, front and rear both measure about 285mm from the spring to the wheelarch, the tyre is 260mm.

      Front:

      Rear:

Do you think I can convince the DVLA equivalent here in Norway that they are standard? They have RS written on them...

Try to get them fitted on the rims later tonight, just need to decide on brakes then...

hope they fit ok and dont rub as it will look fat from the rear

        245/35/18 side wall 8.58cm and diameter 62.87cm

        255/35/18 side wall 8.93cm and diameter 63.57cm

so not much difference there but its the extra width that might be a problem as my 245 are quite close to the coil over spring and with the extra width and then tyre flex they might catch the spring maybe but hope they dont as i to would upgrade to the extra width

265 you have to mod your inner arches on the rear

                Just fitted the tyres

Now all I need is brakes And probably a big hammer, they are going on wether they want to or not now. The tyres look perfect with the wheel size though.

And yes, I know the pictures are crap. Its late, its dark, it 3 degrees outside

Think they look better than the 245s I've seen as they don't look so stretched
