i used to get a mag plus discounts for things and the use of the club for insurance valuations and you can have a sig whereas non members can't on the forums hahah.
if like me your no longer a member you can't tag along to a show in yer and put money into the club by way of admission etc so thats a few things of the top of me head.

although i'm still a member(been for years),if you don't go to any shows, or wan't some so called benifits from insurers/traders or a chance to grab some NOS or cars for sale that the staff have had first dibbs at yonks before the members have etc, then i wouldn't bother mate.
Cue the"its not what the club gives you,its what you give/input into the club"brigade
Well i pay a monthly fee to my gym,not cheap, alot alike this membership compared to other car clubs...but my gym doesn't charge me to go to one of thier yearly social events...and its quite open to let non members in,for a small fee....nor does it ask me to"input" anything apart from the fee i pay, judging by some members in the RSOC,i'd be cleaning out the toilets at my gym and that would be deemed as totally satisfactory"input" for the club

Also non members not being allowed on club stands, little things like that which grate with me...plus motorsport shells etc etc....loads of "i'm up me arse" pompus crap...and the mags arn't that great, the recent one was delayed and wasn't worth the wait IMO but then you will get the old reply"the mag is only as good as the input they recieve"....i also pay a monthly subscription to EVO and yes, maybe its slightly dearer, but they don't often email me for "input"...

This club has been stuck in the dark ages with its attitude and forsight for donkeys years, especially staff side, they really think as a "business"(which they are) they don't need to do much or adapt and just let the"customers" take up the slack(and the costs) and blame them(the customers) for any short falls... i'm suprised some of these dinasours even know how to use email/texts..ooppps,i think some don't

And this from a genuine longtime RS loving member that has had pretty all marks of the RS brands from mk1 rs escort upwards...i love the brand,i just think the club is run by clueless c**ts and its been like that for along time

anyway,to answer your original question, yes mate,£35 is a steal,go for it
