Ey by gum lad, I used te use Tweeksies when they were a little shop front in Tattenhall and that's before they opened up the back part of the shop. Mr Minshaw use to serve behind the counter back then

If it hasn't moved from the wrexham site then I have been there. I used to have a bit of sponsorship off them. In those days if your car had Demon Tweeks on the side and was televised and seen on TV you were given quite big discounts. I was on Sky TV in my GP B Astra and the Ears motoring news championship was on sky sports and i got a wee 15 minutes of fame( so the saying goes).
when I was single and in the Navy on Chief Submariners pay I had money to burn and the extra cost at DT was not a problem I now surf the net for bargains, DT is far far too expensive. There was a company called Trans Auto Sport ( TAS), I had a trade account with them and could buy some of the same items sold at DT for about 40% less. I dont even know if TAS is still going

Yes some great lanes in T/Hall had the Astra down there many many times, it was hard not drive like a nutter.
I didn't know you used to live there Karl, i bet you spent a lot of time in the shop when you were younger making wish list. I know I did when I had my Holbay Hillman Hunter, got some great bolt on bits, didn't make the car any faster but at least at 17 years old I Could pretend to be Pentti Airikkala .lol.

when i was there mate they had not emigrated to WXM,i did go the shop your referring to though before they left tattenhall quite a few times but if i'm honest i preffered dave baines's autoquip in kelsall for my rs stuff.
he's still going strong flogging stuff on ebay these days,bet you used to go there too

when i was there mate they had not emigrated to WXM,i did go the shop your referring to though before they left tattenhall quite a few times but if i'm honest i preffered dave baines's autoquip in kelsall for my rs stuff.
he's still going strong flogging stuff on ebay these days,bet you used to go there too

I did Karl, yes, quite a lot. I was in that area in February and the shop wasnt there. Even the rear compound he had with his own Escort's and cars didn't seem to be there. What happened..

same as with anyone old school they get swooped on by with technology,he needed to go from the shop and magazine mailorder to internet only asap but never so the shop ended up empty for a few yrs then it went to auction and he sold it for a tidy profit i heard.
he lives in a farm house nr the a51 by clotton and sold stuff from there but as i said about a yr ago i noticed he was selling stuff now on ebay. I also remember when he was in the late 80's in chester right by me and moved when quicks ford built there showroom there,quicks or evans halshaw as they became moved after 20 years and its now a fookin morrisons used to see alllsorts of tasty mk1 and 2 escorts comming and going when i was a kid from there as it was right opposite my mates house......
