  • Clutch Advise Please

I have a hydraulic clutch from Martin using twin plates which are a bit of a pain (& noisy) to use.
I originally had organic & carbon metallic plates which were ok but have worn out quite quickly so changed the plates to carbon metallic & carbon metallic recently.
Although they should last longer it is impossible to just set off quickly as the biting point has to be kept under 1600 rpm to keep things smooth and the car is too easy to stall.
I was told the Alcon 6 paddle clutch I had originally was not up to the job but I am aware some people use these with high power cars?
What are the best options for fast road use & occasional track days?

                  Sorry
i should of mentioned the power....

Also I said carbon mettalic plates earlier which is NOT true as they are actualy cerametalic. sorry

Anyone using 6 paddle on high power cars & what mileage do you get out of one?
i got 2000 miles from the first twin plate set up before it started to slip & most of that was just driving in traffic & normal slow driving.
The second lot of plates lasted 3000+ miles with a few track days before I noticed slipping on full boost. (I drive on low boost 95% of the time - honestly)
I am now on my 3rd lot of plates which as mentioned but this time both of them are cerametalic which are a bit too nasty for a road car in my opinion.

No launches, LOTS of track days, no riding the clutch and taking it out of gear ALL the time in traffic, I get 12-15,000 miles - 450lb ft.

                              Just for info.

AP 184mm 4 paddle twin plate.

the clutch plates were replaced after 5 Rallys, approx 700 stage km, and 700 to and from. that includes approx 40 launches at 7000 rpm.

maybe we should have replaced them a little sooner as they were almost down to the rivets, but no slip was felt.
