  • What Bush?

No, not a better version of What Car? Could be a winner though.

What I'm after is opinions on which bushes are worth replacing with poly bushes. My car has already had the front track control arm bushes replaced, but that's about it.
My car is always going to be a road car, not a track car, so is it worth replacing any of the others, will there actually be any benefit?
I ask because I am planning on changing to a Koni suspension kit, and if it's worth doing any of them I might as well have it done at the same time.
    Cheers
    Trev.

I've Polyed the Front & Rear anti roll bar, Rear diff mount, Main beam bush & Inner / Outer TCA. The only ones you don't want to do are the rear arms.

I am going to do this at somepoint trev, I have opted to go for just the front tca's being poly all the rest are staying as originals
but my decision is based on colour as I only wanted black and that limits me to the full on race ones

Yes, my front tca ones are black too Ben. I just wonder if you really get that much benefit from the others for a road car.

It would be a little stiffer but are you really going to notice it other than feeling all the lumps and bumps to actually how often you go for a spirited drive and need them properly.

I just need to get the rear trailing arm ones (or did I get them :dunno, off to check in the garage) then they can be fitted at somepoint

I agree with this. I have done mine like this and I have Koni Adjustables with Ahmed Springs. The ride is very good and not noisey on the road. I also have the Front Top mounts in Poly and they are all Powerflex Yellow & Purple ones.

Paul I like the idea of the fit and forget as that is what I like to do if doing anything on the escos

but I don't want purple or yellow,I want Black but they only come in Race spec or something like that

I've seen the black ones on ebay. But I don't think they are powerflex. I think they may be deflex ones. You only have to ask Mike Rainbird what he thinks of them.

It may be worth giving Powerflex a ring to see if they would do black for you.

ive done all my rear beam in them only necuase the std ones were shot, my main beam mounts are the black ones and may aswell be metal ther that stiff, but im going to change for metal ones anyhow

the front will all be adjustable so no bushes

Paul wasn't going to do the deflex, pretty sure powerflex do the ones in black, here you go found a link but for motorsport only

I just can't believe they can't do them the same stiffness as the yellow and purple ones but in black, am I

Sounds like you have the same setup as me

The only other thing I did was fit a STG2 rear beam so that does away with the arm bushes

Has anyone tried the new Colins bushes for the rear arms? Just wondered if they were any good as I need a pair of inner ones for my refurb. I've got some new Ford Outers but no inners.

Qeustion. For replacing the track control arm bushes do you need to dismantle the whole front ?
