Helping out anembo at ford fair , we where asked lots of times about the alloy 2wd hubs and the wrc ones for standard uprights ,so if there's enough interest he is willing to do a batch of 4x4 in alloy , let us know your thoughts guy please

Xpack,
Yes roll centres, camber adjustment, bearing sizes and steering arms. Modulus of elasticity considered.
Bearing upgrade could be transit spec, nice as they may be ceramic bearings are not essential.
Roll centre means bottom ball joint needs to go lower and be adjustable. Adjustable because of all the ride height, wheel/tyre and beam combo's in use.
Steering arms have to move with the bottom ball joint plus some height adjustment to tune bump steer curves. Lateral adjustment could allow some change to ackerman, but it is not an essential feature.
Camber adjustment needs to be at the top of the hub. Could be by camber shims. Could be by eccentric bolt like many OEM'S. CAN'T be by TCA length or at the bottom because of the length effect on drive shafts.
All grades of ally have a modulus around 69GPa and steel around 200GPa. So copying the shape of the OEM steel part in ally will result in a part roughly 1/3 the stiffness. That means hub flex over bumps and through corners. The WRC hub shape no doubt evolved with MoE in mind. So some design thought needs to be put in to the shape. I suspect an optimised design may look a bit WRC'ish with OEM mountings.
What do you think?
Cheers
John
