Having not seen the episode yet I can only go on what I knew prior to it being aired and that was this spoiler which clearly is a 'Marmite' love it or hate it type thing was something that was originally envisaged during the Escos design process but obviously never made it in to production for whatever reasons and that Ant's idea behind doing it in the show was in homage to that design idea just to show what it would have looked like

No you are right and it was cut due to costs. They did test it in a wind tunnel and it does supply 30% more downforce.

Watched the episode hoping for the best. Instead, same fantasy haggling - hit him at $5,000 lower than the ask and the owner takes it with 30 seconds consideration. Then, big surprise, in the end, the original owner buys it back for $20,000 more than he sold it for. Probably had a deal with the producers to do some repairs on the car in exchange for filming it. Hated the third wing BTW. Looking past that, it was a decent episode.
