      • tbh, no one should have to modify anything to this kit, Karl bought the kit and the springs so it would be as he wanted it,not too bodge it up to suit him.

          • Right guys ive been back in the garage tonight :

            1st off the line where it tapers ( shoulder if ya like ) measured approx 4mm different on each side. The passenger sat slightly lower in the hub ( pinch bolts in place )

            Anyway i removed the struts and measured every bit against each other and all checked out ok. Monster kindly gave me a few measurements from his koni's and all seemed to check

            Before i refitted i checked how the bolt fitted through the Koni and it has approx 4mm or so movement in it, so when fitting i made sure that the shock was seated as far as possible in the hub so i could still get the bolts in. This time both sides and equal and check out with Monsters shockers.
            I still have approx 4mm from the hub to the shoulder but similar to what cossymad has posted on his Gaz. I decided not to elongate for the sake of 4mm...........

            The strut caps are the proper escort ones and NOT the saffy ones graham mentioned.


            Cars back on its feet yet the gap between tyre and arch is equal, which baffles me as i ordered the ahmeds with the fronts -12mm more than normal

            I hope it settles but i cant see much more TBH, so has Ahmed supplied me the wrong ones? Ive sent him an email, but find that hard to believe.

            Anyway the main thing is the shockers are sat equal but still find it hard to believe that the shoulders dont sit flush to the hub ( Not just konis, but Gaz etc )............

            Anyway, i just hope my springs are right but im not messing with suspension any more

                  • Add another casualty to the list, and i haven't even hit a pot hole. 5 degrees camber on the passenger side and cant go to ford fair now

                    • +1 more here too just replaced mine with gaz had 10mm between my spring cup and tyre on o/s and 2mm on n/s I have the good one from the o/s here if its any use to you only 20 mins to change over.

                          • Hooray a bent Bilstein shock again, this one lasted 3 months until pothole came

                            Is there any solution for this other than group A/WRC hubs?

                            • New shock is on the way, im sending the old bent one back they want to see what is wrong. Maybe new ones are better, got 1 new style and 1 old (which bent)
