  • Need 2 insure

    Hi all.

quick question has anyone noticed anything up with need2insure lately or is it just me

I’ve been with them for over 10 years but just lately last year and this year I found a there prices and service to be not I normally expect from them.

price for the cossie was over 100 pound dearer last year. And this year for my bmw they were coming in at 90 quid dearer.

I sent over proof of cheaper quotes and the response I got back felt like they didn’t care.

id it just me or has anyone else experience this.

I’m not slagging them down as they’ve been pretty good the last 10 years and I know Paul is on here I just wanted to see whether it was me or if anyone else’s experienced this.

Yeah unfortunately I couldn’t get my insurance any cheaper or like it used to be. Roughly 200 more. It’s a shame, but I guess they all go through inflation cycles.

Yes I just moved my cossie away from them after almost 10 years - A Plan came in much cheaper (as in £250 vs £385). The other reason I moved it was they use Equity Red Star to underwrite the policy and their reviews on Trust Pilot are pretty shocking (scored something like 1.6 vs about 4.6 for the underwriter that A Plan have used.

I tried them, but they were a good bit more expansive than Adrian Flux, and they weren't cheap either, think as the value of the cars increase unfortunately so does the cost to insure.

I had my Sierra with them a couple of years ago renewal was shocking so it’s on Admiral multi car insurance classic car policy agreed value alongside the Escort and all the others I own, roughly £ 175.00 each

Its not just the price you have to think about its the modifications you have done to the car. Need 2 Insure allow some serious modifications. I went through this same issue last year and spoke directly with Paul and he explained the reason for higher premiums. In fact he advised me that I still had the car valued at the price I paid for it in 2011 ( 16K) so we upped it to 44K. Also not many people will insure a Cosworth full stop let alone a 500 bhp highly modified one, so IMO Need 2 insure still offer good value.

Using them for my mk3 rs and price has been good, plus if it gets stolen I get it replaced like for like not just trade price.
