Not really used them on cossies but densos tend to crack on the ceramic on zetec turbos. Seen a few. But I wouldn’t let that put you off, even stock 071c’s which I use have their issues.

I bought them for my mk3 focus rs and ended up not using them and bought ngk iridiums instead at twice the price, people kept saying the tips fell off them ect and when i googled it, it didn’t seem like bullshit.

                bringing back the subject again!
Just been getting the car ready for Marks final tune tweek..so. oil and filter change and replaced the standard cheep ( not even for a cosworth) champion plugs used for multiple start stop of engine whilst working on it. Replaced with IK27 ( see note) and within 2 to 3 minutes the idle went to shit and within 5 minutes it was missing at all revs. Car just wouldn't start after that. put the cheep plugs back in and runs fine. Put the 27's back in ( after engine had been running for a while and started and idled great on the champions) to find it still wouldn't start. Thats the second full pack of IK27 plugs that haven't even been driven on the road yet. I really need a plug that will run 500hp and not foul especially if the engine floods for what ever reason. it seems once IK27's get wet there fooked. What was the consensus for a non denso 500+ hp plug?
NOTE.To be fair at some point the temp sender plug had pulled off so the ik27 plugs must have been flooded so its didnt start at all when I fitted the 27's . I dried out the engine replaced the 27's again and it started but within 2 to 3 minutes it started to misfire and within 5 minutes turned into a sack of shit.. Then I put the champion plugs back in, it started instantly and no misfires.

I run only bcr8es in mine, or bcr7es if more idle and slow driving. The iridiums seems to be extremly sencitive, so that happens if tune is not 100% , the cheap bcr8es/bcr7es i never had any issue with

Why iridiums? Use the cheap bcr8es/bcr7es, gap to 0.6mm, works perfect, and just change them when old... I use some 071c motorcraft, but sasly not the quality it used to be, several batches with bad plugs, judt like any motorcraft, they use who ever is cheapest when getting batches of spares made now...

The heat range is 6 is that a cold enough plug?
i belive the IK 27 are a much cooler plug.

Not claiming the heat range would suit 500hp. Garet asked if anyone was using IX's.

NGK say 9 is equivalent to denso 27.
                              Cheers
