  • Front Hub Carrier- differences

Trying to be a smart arse, I built up a spare hub carrier I had with new bearings thinking I was saving time and could just swap them over . Having fitted the hub carrier today my AP caliper brackets wouldn't fit in the right place. On inspection I found the lugs on the carrier were closer to the hub than the one I took off.
    Q. What would the other hub carrier be off. I thought 4x4 Sierra and Escos were the same . Anyway had to undo all my work. I salvaged the new bearings and seals thankfully.
Pisser is the hub was all rust prepped and painted. I now have a useless hub carrier.

Few differences between xr4x4 and 4wd Cos

          Brake calliper mountings

Strut sits closer in and casting wider therefore pushes track out (Slightly wider front track)

Lower steering knuckle or TCA pin raised on xr4x4 (Just under the CV about an inch clearance) Escos and saph 4x4 about 2" clearance)

Steering outer tie rod is parallel with hub nut/shaft centre on xr4x4 on escos and saph 4x4 it is considerably lower

xr 4x4 lugs are 63 mm from the hub face
Cos 4x4 are 45 mm from the hub face
not sure what granada 4x4 are but I would suspect they are the same as cos 4x4
the hubs them selves are the same on cos and xr the granada is 5 stud
