  • Ford Sound CD2040 - Code Required

    Hi guys,

I have an old Ford Sound CD2040 cd player that I'm looking to get working again but I have lost the key code. Does anyone know where I can get the code from?

    Thanks,

    Rich

I think it's difficult to get the codes for them, Rich. I believe (but don't quote me) all the normal decoding methods don't work, and you can only get them from Ford. If you find out differently, let me know!

I'll dig it out of storage over the weekend and send you a photo. Thanks!

You can decode 2040 units from the serial number, KR? That's good news! I thought as they are not in the usual Lxxxxxx or Mxxxxxx form, they couldn't be done.

Fraid not Biz. My CD player wont even power up now, so I've yet to check if the code works. I need to do some further work to get power up working first. I'll report back if I do get it worked and code tested.

Well, if KR54321 came up with a code, that's a giant leap forward!
