  • Value? Thinking of selling

I’m thinking of selling my small turbo escort cosworth. It’s done 75k with service history, old mots. 7 owners. I’ve owned it for 5 years, very clean car compared to most out there, underside has done and not full of rot. it’s in mallard green, grey hex interior. Avo shocks and Bayjoo springs, Reyland front discs, hydraulic clutch, and had a lot of work done since my ownership. What do we all reckon it’s worth? Thanks in advance.

I’m in the same boat so thinking some of the classic car auctions might be best ,

you dont see many around now for under £45K.

not sure how good them cars would be compared to your car however it sounds nice so maybe nearer £50k plus.

there seem to be quite a few people out there after our cars but seem to have a certain colour they want, its finding the one who wants your colour, model and spec.

        Dave.

I'm still looking for a car but that is now because I am being fussy, in particular looking for Auralis or Imperial blue. I have had a fair few messages from some wanted posts I put on social media and have been offered some lovely examples ranging between £35-£45K, one or two of which are still on the back burner for now.

A friend of mine, from a message I was sent, has recently bought a 95 (N) ST Lux car (purple/Aubergine) with 95k miles, folders of history, standard apart from exhaust and all original under the bonnet and paid £35,500 for it.

From talking to others it seems that the £50k plus price tag on some cars are either being sold (or not sold) by dealers, or, owners not looking to sell but trying to keep the price high.

Auctions are just another world, people see the word Cosworth on a listing and sell there house to get bidding. I've seen nicer examples sell on eBay for less than 'rotten barn finds' at auctions Granted these are mostly Saph's..., So my advice, for what it's worth and even though it wasn't asked for and given that i'm still on the hunt is if you want to maximise the sale value, send it to auction. Unless it's blue, then message me!
