  • STOLEN !

Seems a very long time ago now but back in the day when this forum was a buzzing hive of activity with hundreds of users posting all day and night long about all manner of things related to their love of the Escort Cosworth and the threads were a rainbow of colours as people posted endless pictures of lovely cars in all kinds of different settings...............remember that time ? Yes, i remember it too, good times it has to be said. At that time i used to load all my car pics from the meets i attended and the trips i went on into Potobucket, and i think many others did too, in fact it was the only place i stored my pictures.
In recent days i was feeling a little nostalgic and fancied having a browse through those old pictures, so i logged onto Photobucket............and to my disgust found i had to pay a subscription to look at MY OWN bloody pictures ! What a fecking liberty !! I feel like these people have stolen my memories and are holding them to ransom !!
Reluctantly, i've paid the money and now have access to the pics, but my question is to anyone on here who is better with computer tech than i am.....and that's probably most of you lol.......is there any way i can quickly and easily export all of my pics from Rip Off Shite Bucket to either some free hosting service or just to my harddrive or whatever ?? Thanks in advance

Yes that's exactly what I thought when I saw your post. Thankfully your car is still safe.

you havent been on p/bucket for a few years then lol,i kept ignoring the emails they sent and i managed to keep mine going for probably another year which gave me plenty of time to copy them all but it sure did ruin a lot of sites and all the history involved,i think your the only person i know who actually paid up

Haha, sorry fellas…..maybe that was a little misleading lol. Anybody wanting to steal my car would have to get through at least 10 inches of dust first !!
Afraid so Nick, I did give them a couple of quid begrudgingly just to get full access and see if I could retrieve all or just of the better pics but being a bit tech dimwit I’ve pretty much already given up lol

Yup, same here. Havent used photo bucket since they shat on their loyal customers.
Is there a reason this site has gone quiet.
Surly not every one has sold their cars?

It was a buz reading all the info and harmless banter......I too do miss it.

Think a lot of it migrated over to social media Frank but I came off of all that myself years ago as I found myself spending far too much time engrossed in it whilst real life rolled past unnoticed ! Other than that I guess it’s just that times change, circumstances change, priorities change…….I don’t know that people actually change all that much……life just evolves i guess and too an extent we get dragged along by it. I don’t know really, maybe I’m talking crap……wouldn’t be for the first time haha !!

This thread naturally got my attention (glad it’s not what I thought!). I used to use photobucket but I’ve noticed they haven’t blocked my sig pic so I just logged in to see what would happen. It immediately hits you with payment subscription options to access your albums but right at the bottom in tiny text it says “temporarily ignore this message”. I clicked that and still have access to my photos (?)

I haven’t sold my car, owned it for 15 years now, this site has been great for information, help, contacts, parts etc. Shame its as quiet as it is, hence no regular posts. I’m not on Facebook, never have been, and can’t see how other social media platforms are as useful as this forum for the above.

I’ll try and post more often as I’m trying to use the car more these days. A lot has changed in 15 years, going from single with no commitments to married, 2 small boys, 2 house moves etc, but never once considered selling the Escort. Dream car.

You miss the car or not fussed anymore ? Have you or will you replace it with something else ? Mines coming out next weekend to go to the body shop to put right all the chips scuffs and scratches she picked up on all the trips and stuff i did in my time then off to SCS to get everthing in good order.........maybe then i'll have a think on what to do longer term, not going to get much use now so either sit on it or move on ? Don't know at the moment....

If you go into a picture on PB and click the three connected dots, you should be able to copy out the IMG tag (probably like “[IMG]url.jpg[IMG]”) and then you can paste that into your reply here.

I’ve just checked but because I’m not subscribed to a payment plan I can’t access hosting links but because you’ve paid you should be able to.
