  • First Day Out.

Over the winter, i made a few changes, engine came out, fitted a new front diff, new gearbox and clutch, new engine mounts, changed every oil seal i could get to as i was being plagued with oil leaks everywhere and sorted a few interference issues with the front brakes that were catching calliper to disks. Had a good drive out today with no major issues, just the steering wheel was slightly off centre, but i got it back and sorted that out. Brakes failed too, but turned out to be just the connector on the ABS pump was loose. GOOD DAY.

Sounds good Darren, did you replace the gearbox and diff for standard items or uprated?

Nice one. Looks awesome in black, and have to say the original lights, fogs, and ambers are a perfect combination.

i was lucky with the brakes when i noticed i was not near anything, if I had been up the back of someone i would have been in trouble, Dan, the front diff was one i bought off Bara, my case was cracked so he built me a new one, just strengthening plate is the only upgrade on that, the gearbox has upgraded gears, its a bit more noisy than the standard box as the gears are more straighter cut, but not as noisy as a motor sport sequential box, its a bit in between standard and that. Feels like a nice box and the clutch is not that harsh, overall i'm pleased with the way it drives.

                Glad you are using it!
Any idea what make the box is?
not sure if I should change my one to a full box rather than just straight cut 2nd and 3rd

Dan its from Pete Doughty Motorsport Nottingham, its defiantly a bit quieter 3rd, 4th, 5th. but actually not that noisy in 1st & 2nd, you don't really notice the noise with the window up. This is what's inside it. The new clutch is much better than the standard setup, did another 50 miles on Saturday, so everything is feeling really good, just need a rolling road set up now, ill get it booked in at Blackpool when i get the chance.
