I thought it was a great ending and a little nod to the Cossie with someone trying to nick it

turned it on when bolly(or what ever her name was) was digging in the field - then the other "boss" copper came and was acting wierd, then randomly started smashing stufff up - didnt get that bit., got what the pub was - not sure why the others went in though.

It would seem that the other guy ( cant remember his name) is the devil, so the lift going 'down' would be to hell and the pub would be heaven. Gene and his world is, as mentioned before is a stop gap between the two.

so in their future ray committed suicide and the other 2 were killed in the call of duty, but how come they werent acting like funny buggers like keely haws?

were they not back in time or in real time ?
already dead but no flashbacks of memory of what had happened ?
still a bit lost here cause they were acting all normal apart from seeing stars

I think that Ray Chris and Shaz were like lost souls taken before their time, I'm sure there was a reference to how long they could have been there before Gene took them under his wing.
Alex didn't die until whatever time the clock had stopped at(can't remember), she was in a coma (like Sam Tyler) so was semi aware that she was either dead/coma/back intime etc just like Life on Mars.
