doing an engine rebuild on my st escort soon,i was wondering what to do about the oil pumpdo i leave it or replace itthe car has good oil pressure when warm and cold.but should i replace it the thing that puts me off is all the stories about the new ones being shit

if you're going to the time and expense of striping the engine down, then i'd replace the pump. Speak to Mike R off here as he'll know the score regarding new oil pumps.

i got mine from Matt lewis hi pressure try and get a high flow one i got one for my 3 door defo has to be done no point and putting it all back together and not doing it Mark

I can sort you a super-duper high pressure one (80psi), suitably modified to suit oil squirters, instead of using the poxy Pinto one that the EECIVs use - would be £225 + del and is beautifully made . Don't forget that the EECIVs use a really crappy pump compared to the the normal Cossies .

is it worth wile getting a "super duper" one for 350bhp? or will the normal one be ok

By normal, I meant an unmodified high pressure one to suit a Cosworth without oil jets. The EECIV Cosworth just uses a standard Pinto pump . Up to you if you want to fit one of those? Speak to Karl and see whichhe would prefer?
