I am finally getting round to trying to fit the C20LET into the Astra, but as usual I am jumping from one disaster to another.
The turbo (KKK16)

Had movement in the backplate

It seemed that the four bolts holding the plate on were loose

and they were....

Unfortunately this happened


I have looked at getting a replacement impeller shaft off of Ebay, that comes in a £80 and another 2.50 for the nut which I can JUST afford

and I have emailed the seller about the balancing, now he assures me that the unit should be fine as long as the compressor wheel is balanced already and its not damaged.
BUT the wheel has had huge amounts taken off of it to assumedly balance it and also the shaft/nut was extensively ground to I assume offset vibration/rotation runout.



the exhaust casting is in good condition, there are no cracks in it and the valve seat is excellent
where do i go from here? , its driven me (I wish) close to the edge I really would appreciate some advice.
