i'm just debating to put a new one on mine, if i dont need to take the bottom pulley off you need to drop all the rad and fans etc to get to the pulley bolt. i think i would rather wigle it on for half hour than spill coolent everywhere..lol

I wouldn't bother you more likely to kink the belt trying to piss about then just take the pulley off.

i was once told that ford have a special tool for removing the bottom pulley without removing the rad - something to do with transit vans having the same problem

It's doable on a Saff, wouldn't like to try on an Escos though as there's feck all room

theres nothing wrong with the car just talking about it at the min, its just starting to look a little thin, i just hate droping the rad and fans out, plus the pully will probly be seased and probly break then once its been disturbed it might come loose in the future, it just makes me tempted to just leave it on and struggle.

i could not get the bottom pulley off mine so i done it without removing it, it is a very tight squeese to get the new belt in and i did not have the rad in at the time so i would imagine it to be much more difficult with it in

There is a specific way to put a Cossie cam belt on, maybe Mark can confirm?

My brother fitted 2 belts to his old Saph and both snapped, we assumed it was a bent pulley or something till we found out there is a way to do it properly?? Get this confirmed before you do anything Dom

i dont think there is a specific way to put the belt back on but there is a certain way to do the tensiomer, apparentley it has to turn a certain way when you put the belt back on
