  • DPE gearbox, What oil?

    As title. What oil should i put in my DPE box? Its the one with straight cut 2nd and 3rd. Anyone any ideas?

      Fully synthetic 75/90 for the box and automatic transmission fluid in the transfer box I THINK it was Matt

        i used mobil 1 syncro oil, or something like that.

        got mine off Oilman.

                  Why not just ask Pete it' his box but iv only used 75/90 With all his boxes of fitted

                      I did and he said any 75/90 would do.

                      can either go ATF and protect the syncros or 75/90 and protect the gears, can't have both .

                      I had silkolene syn5 75/90 in it before and was difficult to select gears when cold butwas perfect when warmed through.

                      Im looking at Royal purple syncromax at the minute

                          I've run this in mine for literally tens of thousands of miles.....then when I had a selector issue Pete stripped the box and the kit, despite the mileage, was like brand new!! As a result.......i wouldn't consider changing to anything else

                            Pete said to use gear oil in the transfer casing as well. He can't understand why you need a thin oil that simply flings off a chain

                              Think its atf, since gearoil Are to thick, and dont lube the chain good enough
