  • electric window motors

anyone had any experiance with these becoming lazy atall?

the passenger window goes up fine, gets to about halfway and then really slows down to a snails pace, then about an inch from closed it looks like it is struggling, but it is still moving.
it then stops a few mm short of being fully home.

my instant thought is that it needs a new window motor, no big issue and probably easy to put right.

anyone else had one do the same, and did a new motor cure the issue?

    Cheers.

you sure it's all square and the window doesn't rise up at a slight angle as if it does that will slow it down, or maybe the seals need a little vaselene in them to lubricate them?

I would check to see if you can push the window towards the back of the car as if you feel it move I would say its the above and a few adjustments of the mechanism is all it will need.

Not the same cars but MX5's suffer from this and new motor's cure the problem

I asked this question a while back kelv and got told to try and lube the runners as they get stiff and cause this. But my car is still in bits so I haven't had a chance to try it yet.

watch it if ben starts to get the vaseline out
i used to use nylon lubricant spray on the channels on cars in the past and its helped them
