  • Collection For Bill Steer

Following on from the sad news that a fellow Escos owner was recently killed whilst working on his car

    http://www.escortrscosworth.com/foru...ad.php?t=24617

I have contacted the newspaper who reported the story and they have been in touch with June (Bill's Mum) this morning, to see about us clubbing together to pay our respects with some flowers in memory of Bill. June has said, that is a lovely thought and gesture and has given the paper the ok to send me her address.

If you would like to donate anything to this worthy cause, I think the easiest way would be to collate the money through Paypal, please could you send it to escortcos@hotmail.co.uk and put a short note to say its in memory of Bill

If you're unable to send it via paypal please pm me for other ways you will be able to donate.

£5.00 sent. I didn't know Bill and I have no job at present, but he was a fellow Escort Cosworth lover, so deserves a good send off from us and every little helps

              Funds sent.

Didn't know Bill personally, but this is a devastating thing to happen, the irony of which is it could have happened to any of us at some point in our past, and serves as a painful reminder of what could happen if more care isn't taken. I will never work under a car again without axle stands, so in that regard, his loss could help save the lives of others by raising the awareness of this danger .

Thank you to everyone who has donated, I'm sure the family will appreciate it and everyone who is working on their cars now or plan to over the winter ensure they take as many precuations as they can, so this does not happen to someone else.

Also sent. As others have said, so it easy it could have been a number of us over the years. I never met or spoke to bill, but from the article and the people on here he sounds like he was a true gent. R.I.P. Bill
