  • Uprated engine mounts ???

Do I actually need them ? Thinking of changing them for collins or vibra tec ones before i drop my engine in the escort , but are they really worth spending the £150-200?

    Car is 350-400hp and rwd.

it depends weather your prepared to risk your current mounts surviving, if they are your original ones, then there old and could be a future problem for you. The fast road vibras definitely transmitt more noise into the car, but otherwise no better than standard ones imo. Problem is standard ones are nla, even if you could source them your talking £140 each from ford.
I think its more a case of aftermarket ones being the only option.

      imo yes.

the old ones are years old and do come apart and you only know when the front shaft fooks up.

Go for the Collins ones or be careful which vibratec you get as some are dry harsh so I have heard

they are pretty strong too, when i had a smash in my car the alloy arm that holds the engine in snapped in two, the engine mount was ok.
