  • Trailer or flat bed???

Hiya guys, DFDS let me know today that it's no extra charge to use a truck with a trailer or a normal flatbed to take my car to Gatebil as apposed to driving there. Anyone have details of a flatbed I can borrow or rent? Luckily the total miles the truck would have to drive is 440 miles thanks to the ferry trips

I am/was, until they sent this email this morning saying there's room for one

It'll be fine driving there, I think I do more miles driving to Ford Fair every year than this trip, but just thinking I don't need to be "as careful" on track if it wasn't my sole way of getting home

Flat bed is sooo much easier and faster

I use a local company but there must be one near you!

Its a trolley ...its a shopping trolley (you know, with the spastic front wheel!!)

You'd think mate, but most don't like the idea that I'm taking it out of the country

DFDS Freight, as in the Ro-Ro to Gothenburg.

And I mean flat bed as in a flat bed, and trailer as in something like a land rover or van pulling a trailer

in my world (and everyone else i know) this is a flat bed trailer......

something that attaches to the back of a car is merely a car trailer??

and the reason i asked about dfds is, a few years ago they were taken over by DSV, then DSV bought out norfolk line but couldnt trade as one big firm (something to do with monopalising the market ) so had to revive dfds - but as far as i was aware only as road transport ..."DFDS logistics" is what they are called in immingham - all the boats in immingham i'm sure now fall under the banner of DSV. not really important i guess, just thought i'd try and clear it up...... thanks for the sarcasm anyway

What sarcasm are you on about you odd little man?!

I couldn't give a rats ass about the name, if you have such a big problem with it, go tell DFDS that they should change their website and logo's on their ships!

A flat bed is the same thing, type it into Google, flatbed recovery.

                      Cheers
