Recently took my Camper van from North London to Durham, was £100 cheaper then everyone else I got quotes from and was reliable. He is well known in the VW world for moving campers etc. Turns out he also likes the Fords as well, he (or possibly his brother iirc) has a Escos as well

I had a MK2 Golf GTI go to Scotland and the guy put it on the back of a HGV car transporter. Think it was around £300? Could be wrong on that. I know it took him three to four weeks to get the car as the lorry went all over the place dropping cars off etc. No idea if the car got there in one piece as he never replied to any of my emails or calls after

bournemouth to glasgow, only 454 miles!! would it not be cheaper to fly down and drive it back? you could be looking at 900 quid? unless the transporter in question could find somethig to bring back?
