i agree its in the drive -train somewhere , but cant see its the box ,, too many cars seem to have the same problem , and nicks car has only done 24,000 . i tried loads of differant types of synthetic oil in my box and transfer case , but nothing made any difference what so ever....Originally posted by Mark Barber View Postnick that nopise i heard when i came over is defo a gear/bearing noise so if youve changed the diff i reckon its in the box ansd travelling down the prop to the rear is too much of a coincidence to only be in 3rd and 4th mate i have got a good box you can borrow if you collect

had a look today but the ujs are staked in place [no circlips] so i couldnt renew them if i wanted anywayOriginally posted by ESCORT2483 View Postthats what i am saying nick .. the uj should move smoothly in all directions . it SHOULD NOT click into place . inside there are needle roller bearings , and they have a habit of wearing or breaking up
has anyone got a rear prop off the car as when you turn my ujs you can feel a sort of notch but only in the straight ahead positions, when you turn them up/down/side to side etc they fell fine but when you return to the straight position you can feel them positively notch into position, are they all like that?
