  • Oil pressure/temperature gauge fitting

    Hi all,

I have recently purchased some aux gauges. Can someone advise me on the best places to read oil pressure and oil temperature from.

    Oil Pressure,
I was thinking about taking oil pressure from the side of the block where the standard low oil pressure switch is. Is this switch under the inlet manifold towards the back of the block? Hopefully I can put a T piece in there. Is it 1/8"NPT?

    Oil temperature,
Can I just read oil temperature from the sump plug? Will this be too low to the ground and potentially get hit going over speed bumps etc? Maybe I'm being over paranoid

Lastly, would a sandwich plate be the best option to read these pressures/temperatures??

As always, any info is greatly appreciated!

your orig sender should be screwed into this,so it will have another outlet underneath which you can use,its a pain to get at though

You can't run two different senders from the same feed i.e. Aftermarket one and O.E. one.
One will cancel the other one out, I have done it with mine like you say and you have to plumb them in separately for them both to work.

      Scouse.
