  • Tailgate collection

    Hi,

I've just bought a as new tailgate for my Escos but what I am wondering is if anyone has experience of collecting one in the past?

Its 4 hrs from me and it must be collected in person 😞, would it fit in a car, jeep, van etc? Looking for the most fuel economic way of collection.

I've been staring at the one on my car trying to imagine it without spoilers etc. But i cant decide.

    All advice welcome.

Yeh the guy wont package anything and wouldn't want it unprotected in transit, literally have to collect in person

it won't fit in the back of an escos, You will need something with a wide interior van would be ok

Im in south wales and its in Newcastle, I've got access to a transporter but its just the 626 mile and 11hr round trip putting. Me off. Wish the guy would accept courier but the tailgate is in great condition from the pics and description plus he has more smaller parts im after

Definitely won't fit in the back of a car with the spoilers on. I sold a rep one a while back and the guy had to take the spoilers off at my house.
                  Cheers

The problem with couriers with panels I've found is they ALWAYS get bent or dented somewhere in transit. I don't think I've ever had a panel arrive perfect.

Hi Trev, this tailgate is bare without spoilers but i think as u say a courier will damage it, got to just bite the bullet and get myself on the road to collect

Will he not even wrap some cardboard around it to protect it so you can have it collected, sounds like he's being a bit awkward to be fair

what i'd do is get it on a train, gorrah be the cheapest option a return ticket from the valleys to howayy manland, take a pushchair and chuck it on that and if anyone asks just say the baby needs a boot
