Fuel filter crush washers

This might sound like a little thing, but is there a trick to getting the crush washers really tight on the fuel filter banjos, I had the same problem years ago with an RS Turbo, I couldn't get hold of the filter tight enough to crush the washers down and it just peed fuel all over the place.

the filter should have provision to hold it with anotherr spanner trev ive never used crush washers there just ordinary copper ones though

Take it off and heat it up then let it go cold and refit.
