Can I remove it completely as I'm wanting to go a little more standard in the bay looks and would like to remove it, I've still got a K&N filter.

not sure about Your rules over there, but you can remove it and have only a hose under the car... and depend on where you breat from...

I'd go with a wrc breather, not exactly standard but it's more in keeping with the standard looks because you can't see it at all from above. Get one fitted when you get a tune up at SCS.
