Greasing prop UJs ?

I'm currently discussing my transmission failure on another forum[from 2010 ,not another one]

and someone pointed out a possible grease point on front prop UJs ,from my pic of a broken front prop UJ.

Is it something that should be "serviced" periodically ?

the front one can dry out due to being so close to the exhaust, it has 2 removable plugs and you can take these out and fit grease nipples,thats what i did to mine several yrs back now

i fitted some like this jon,cant remember the size though although 6mm sounds promising

box and whatever else the prop took out I think, it's been a while

Transmission is fine.

It broke down and failed MOT.
