Tech Question - SUNROOF

Hi guys, escort sliding glass sunroofs, should they be lubricated?
I would like my roof to slide more smoothly and wondered if the wire that runs in the groove round the roof needs a spay of something, the wire looks to be covered in a white plastic coating, any suggestions?thanks.

Yes give it some thin oil in the groove.

I found it best using ptfe spray, wd-40 do one for about £5 that comes out wet and then dries so a bit like dry film lubricant, dust and dirt won't stick to it so it stops the runners clogging up
