It now runs like an absolute dream. I used it all weekend. 60 miles I've done and 1 full tank of fuel. 530 mental ponies is more addictive than any drug. 7400 rpm and it's like a missile.

True. Though it's not a mad stretch. I suppose it's what you want after. A mint standard car, a modified car or just an escos for the sake of it. Horses for courses. I'd just advise thinking about what you want. Nothing in this world is cheap for no reason.

Thanks again all for the replies. I will drop Mark a call tomorrow to see if he can inspect.

Regarding budget, I have always wanted one I can use and improve over time hence looking for a running project. Seller seems genuine and viewing on Wednesday to get a provisional idea before moving on to the next stage.

Any specific pointers/things to look out for?

Above everything else I would be looking for rust, rust and potentially more rust!

Bare in mind parts are very thin on the ground and if you do find some then they can be very expensive.

If you're bringing someone with you like Mark then he'll know where to look for the rust. They can look 'mint' but have alot hidden behind the bodykit. Check the boot lid, floor and basically go over it with a fine tooth comb. Any genuine seller shouldn't mind you taking a good hour to inspect the car if you seem like a genuine buyer.

I travelled to England to look at one in May 2015 or there abouts and was ready to walk away from it within a couple of minutes of viewing (due to rust and botched management to name but a few issues), just be prepared to do the same and be able to walk away if needs be or have a price in mind if it's going to require much work.

Good luck and I hope it's what you're looking for when you see it it's nice when some of them can be saved.
