  • Tech Question - Turbo choice

    Hi All,
    just wondered what peoples opinions are on what size Turbo makes a fun Cosworth for the road.

    Would you;

    A. choose a big turbo to get big power?
    B. Choose a smaller turbo for sooner spool up but less power?

    Im currently in this dilemma as i currently have A but find it frustrating when getting to hills in 5th as you always have to drop it down a gear or 2. Full boost isn't until 4250rpm.

    I am currently considering changing from a roller bearing Turbonetics to a Borg Warner EFR

    I know turbos have been discussed before but i haven't seen any body ask which is more fun to drive on the road? maybe ive missed it

    Depend on what roads you drive at, and if whant "bolt on" or is okay with all extra that follows some turbos... But turbo alone is not all, setup is just as important on road i always loved the t34 on greens or greys with boost that IT handle. Netics e50 was also always good, and full size gt3071r is very good.

    What turbo you on now? Maybe another map or camsetup will be a better way to try?

      They are all good fun but for me the Escort is best suited to a 7064 and 500hp.

        Hi Mark, that's interesting as I was wondering about the EFR7064.
        currently have a Turbonetics t60 series running 600bhp But as said for the road probably not best suited.
