  • Rev counter issue - MSD coilpack board

Just remembered that I do have an issue with the above which completely slipped my mind!!!!

Ok, so running in the new engine up to around 4 to 4.5K and I've started to notice the needle behaving irratically when closing to the 4k mark (it never bothered me before as I was constantly keeping an eye on what the pectel monitor was saying).

But from all accounts, the MSD/esc cos rev problem only happens at lower revs? (2k)

    anyone had experience of this?

not sure if it's the same, but my mates have had the same problem with their saph's both using the MSD coil pack conversion. One was fixed by an update from MSD along with something soldered on the back of the rev counter, the other was never sorted so he fitted an SPA recall rev counter in place instead.

RWD_Wil might know more about this.

Any one that has a coilpack . All the Zetec ones do, so just pick one where the revcounter looks the same .

I put an RS2000 rev counter in mine and it was exactly the same. If you email Stu at MSD he will send you the details of how to mod the tacho its 1 simple wire soldered across 2 contacts on the pcb on the back of it, I would have posted it up but I dont have the email anymore.
