40 years of Ford RS

Maybe im the only one to notice this, but 2010 is the 40th anniversary of the Ford RS badge (started in 1970 with the Escort RS1600 Mk1). And yet im amazed no one is planning any extra special events or even Ford them selves havent breathed a whisper.

in 1970 the first rs1600 rolled off the Avely production line driven by Graham Hill,that was officially recognised by Ford Motor Comapny on the 2nd Nov 1970 so thats its 40th birthday then innit

I don't think they have a great deal of opportunity to do things like this anymore mate, other than the big main shows the Regional ones are dying off IMO, Dorset is only bi-annually, as is Hants (I think), Stanford Hall has gone, the Welsh Regional one has gone, fucking credit crunch...

That's the big three IMO Alex, Combe, Ford Fair & National Day! Although where the fook they are going to hold ND this year is anyone's guess!? Has it been announced yet?

imo someone from the ford mags needs to comment on this milestone,it not like its not important enough tomake a special effort,this is my opinion and i'm sticking to it..............

in the rsoc they love a 10th aniversarry etc and waffle on about the focus rs's and series 1 rst etc etc
but this is a important aniverssary of the marque/brand. there would be no focus rs in awful green if graham hill had not driven the rs1600 off the production line back then.
so i think you should have a occasion where many months in advance its mentiond that its the brands big one and get a full rs1600 line up to focus rs.

I always thought the showscene on the mainland would be bigger than ours? Our RSOC has quite a few shows throughout the summer. In fact there are soo many Ford based things, it gets boring going to them all
