  • Front camshaft bearing

Started to put togheter a engine... IT have New cams, New front bearings, so question is since i dont have any cams complete here, is IT supose to just slide on, without any Force? Isent IT supose to "lock" the camshaft from moving front to back? Never changed bearing on them before so became unsure... But dont seems right to me

That is used when having 2wd cam in 4wd car or vice versa.

No that one is diffrent. Its supose to be in front of bearing for sure, so just need to be sure its correct one, and where the oring is supose to be, if its behind bearing or beetween bearing and this spacer. When started to think, IT would be a huge oilleak i Fron since the Cam seals is way to big hole compared to camshafts, so then i remember IT was supose to be something infront of bearing.

2wd cam wont fit in a 4x4 but a 4x4 will fit in a 2 wd head with a spacer
that spacer pictured fits with the angled part towards the pulleys i'm sure, the camshaft oil seal fits over it
I can't remember fitting the small o rings

I will look at IT when i get the parts. Its a groove on camshaft behind bearing, so maybe IT fits there. Guess its not very important, but its a "cheap" insurance from a smal oilleak there.

Well... Have ordered new since didnt find them in storage....Today when looking for something else, i found the old spacers from this engine.. IT looks like oring is beetween bearing and spacer yes, so thats were i put them now. That also looks correct, since oil cant pass the spacer since outher seal runs on IT, so its the only place to put IT in the chamfer in spacer that hit bearing Center.

                          So now its almost ready...
