  • Engine bay soundproofing

Ive tried searching and getting in touch with fellow members but not having luck... and now I'm very desperate for one..

I need the bulkhead soundproofing foam thing that sits behind the engine in the bay.. they were few people who had templates.. but I'm desperately after one now..

    Cheers

Looks like something from Dodomat, as its similar to what i've got from them, not yet installed it though.

Link to the stuff i've got,

Thanks for the replies and assistance fellas,

Main thing is (apart from looking as close as possible to what is should do)... is that it can handle the heat from the downpipe engine etc that sits very closely to it.. some of these sound deadeners are in fact combustible!

Then of course to make sure its water proof...

If it then looks even remotely close to what it should (doesn't bother me) it will do...

              Thanks

For reference, after searching on here.. Mikeyc has used Dodomat in his car (K44 ACE) and it looks to be quite good.. but not sure if he still has the template etc. and what model mat was used...

                cheers

I didn't make a template, I just started at one end and cut and shaped it as I went, was relatively straightforward for a first attempt, unless it was beginners luck

A bit of Nimbus GII (or similar) heat shield will mimic the the same original heat shield on the bulkhead.

The Dodomat that I linked above is rated to 70°C which should surfice for none heat critical areas on the bulkhead.
