  • help needed rev counter not working

    Escort st and my rev counter has stopped working. Does anybody have any ideas why or what to check? Which fuse etc had a look but can't see any issues??

      Tried a second set of clocks that were working 5 minutes before putting in mine so have ruled that out but stupidly never tried mine in their car

        If your BT , look down next to the coil and there is a small black unit half the size of a small match box with an electrical plug on it. Its the rev counter filter. You can pull off the plug and bridge across the 2 terminals in the plug to check if that is the issue. I dont run the filter any more. makes absolutely no difference in how the rev counter works.

          Pin 11 on EDIS is tacho signal.
          Use a multimeter set to Hz with engine running and backprobe pin 11 and ground.

          Expect RPM/60=Hz

          Could also measure same wire at tacho.

          Use multimeter to see if you 12v power to tacho also.
