    who does an orig style stat ? i want one with the thin rubber seal that fits around the edges of the stat itself,i dont want the ones that use a chunky o ring type

    I bought 1 from Ford in the end tired 3 different 1s they were all the 1s with the bigger O ring.

        how much are fords ones? presumed it would be n/lavailable i know they used to cost a fortune from them many yrs ago

          Yes think last i checked(10years or more ago) they where 50-60 i think... I bought from msd some years ago and i am almost sure that was correct oring, and was much cheaper(82deegree i got)

                      well that was another waste of money got the msd one and the rubber seal is too thick,theres no way it will clamp up without leaving a gap between the front cover and body,its not as bad as some of the others but still isnt up to ford spec. looks like its a dealer job again,more expense

                          yes the stat itself has gone all brittle inside and started to crack all over,the rubber seal is ok on my old one but wont fit properly over the new stat as thats got a raised lip section so needs a wider seal

                            when i rebilt my engine i have the same problem buy seal to Burton and stat it's this TH5978.82J by vernet

                            it's indicate with seal and it's again the wrong seal
                            and refit my old seal perfectly
