  • AP clutch - No stock!

Anyone have any contacts I can try? Everyone I'm asking says they've ran out of stock and are awaiting supply from AP

I'm after the same setup again while my box is away getting rebuilt. So an AP Racing 6 paddle with a heavy duty cover.

Yeah I know, it's heavy on a cable, but it's been slip free and reliable for 20k plus miles It's not slipping now, but it would be rude not change it now

    Cheers,

    Al

They don't make them anymore? Or is there old stock somewhere??

Was thinking of helix kit from Matt Lewis, rated high torque capacity than AP and softer pedal feel.

Not so sure on the helix as tried it and was shite, also why not go hydro on the heavy duty plate, that's what I have on mine with 6 paddle

I would but I'm a bit of a purist in that sense, actually like it being heavy. Part of the character of the car, keeps you switched on

Why do you find helix crap, that's the first negative view I've heard. Looking at the spec it should be well up for handling the power?

send your plate and cover to CG motorsport they will repaddle and machine it then refit it good as new, ive done this on my race car several times now and its still fine, with no slip even when I launch it at the start of a race, give them your flywheel as well to stone grind that flat

how more trusted can it be! I've been to there place for the last 5 years having mine rebuilt as a matter of course rather than after failures, they are experts in what they do,
they fit the same paddles that are fitted to brand new parts that you will fit
ill say it again this is no bodge job, im running more power than you and more strain on the tranmission and ive never had an issue
most of the guys I race with use there clutches as well and ive not heard of a failure.

                  you also save a fortune!

Fair enough mate, but I've heard a lot of bad things, but regardless of that I think it may also be a case of fit the last 2 things to the car that are new and that makes the car entirely finished then. Everything on it has been changed. So I want it to continue being a good all rounder that's done me well on track and cross continental trips as far as Norway without a single failure. Can't get better than that

I tried a helix and it started to slip almost straight away, perhaps I had a duff one ? Hydro still feels fairly heavy but easier to hold in traffic

They take a while to bed in, a bit like brakes. But looking at your power, you sure you had the heavy duty cover?? I went for the AP paddle with helix cover, seems to be the best overall combo.
