Good Morning, I have owned an original Escort Cosworth for 11 years now with a build date of May 1992, is there a way of finding the build number to know if mine is one of the first 2500 built?

The easiest way to check if it's a homologation 92 is whip the back chair up and look for the water injection pumps
Where under the back seat are they located as I have looked for this in the past however found nothing, I guess in the past someone has removed. Is there anything else to look for? Mine is defo May 1992 build.

I spoke to the guy who's company supplied ford 2500 water injection kits ,he told me everything about them so it should of had one
mine it's 24 june 92on cat and if i take work shop it's may 92 and no water kit.
Are they already build first 2500 in june?
I have the details the first production cars of the karmann plant and the lhd's were first before right hand drives ,so if you have s early left hooker in around April or may you have one of the first of the 2500 homologation Cozzehs
Mine is September 92 and I have the water injection stuff. I've heard before though that some of the 2500 homologation cars didn't come with it as they forgot to fit it.
Dave ( Monster) knows something about how the first 472 didnt come with the water injection system. He did a check for me , mines april 92 and one of the cars that did not have it fitted in the car. Its build number is 365.
May aswell reiterate it only the 1992 built Escort Cosworths are homologation cars ,so when you look at which ones to buy if it's not a 92 built car it's 'just' a escort Cozzeh and if it's a small turbo the f.i.a didnt recognise them.cars anyway.
The first 2500 are part of ford Motorsport history enabling Ford to put Miki Biasion & Francois Delecour on the 93 Monte Carlo rally and put the Escort Cosworth into the World Rally Championship
